The Brentford Card is an independent community platform for TW8 — it is not the council, and it is not developer-funded editorial.
Brentford is having its moment. Thousands of new homes at The Brentford Project and Kew Bridge Rise are bringing new neighbours to a town with real history — the confluence of the Thames, the Brent and the Grand Union Canal, a working high street, and a stubborn set of independents who have held the line for years.
Why we exist
We do one job: point spending at Brentford's independent businesses, and give new arrivals a reason to shop local from week one. The Brentford Card is the mechanism — a £29-a-year membership that lives in your phone wallet and unlocks offers across town. The directory and the news exist to back it up: a proper record of who's here, and what's changing.
The charity commitment
Five per cent of every membership goes to Brentford Community Sports Trust. That is fixed, not a launch gimmick. The rest funds the platform and keeps it independent.
The editorial line
Our news is written to be useful and honest. We are not the council's newsletter and we are not paid by developers to say nice things about regeneration. When a scheme is good for the high street we'll say so; when it is disruptive, we'll say that too. Businesses pay nothing to be listed during launch, and a listing is never coverage for sale.
